As a project developer in this network organization, she brings together experts the field of strategy, concept development, research and communications. In this way, Purpose Lab support brands to develop and to market a sustainable and future proof strategy.

About Tessa aan de Stegge

Purpose Lab is the second company that I have founded. The focus on sustainability of the business and flexibility within the organization, enables me to be a conscious entrepreneur and to work together in a creative way with likeminded people. As of 2007 I have been working as a (trend) researcher, strategist and communication specialist on both sides of the table. The analysis of changing consumer needs and the research of trends and innovative business models is what I like to do most, just like the implementation of concepts, campaigns and events. Being born in a family of entrepreneurs, the call of creation wil always remain irresistible. As of 2012, I have been creating my own businesses. The first seven years I worked with my team in the company Cherry LAB on the development and conduction of hundreds of campaigns for destinations, hotels, start-ups and travel organizations. Purpose Lab was founded in 2019.

Conscious entrepreneurship

Purpose Lab enhances conscious decisions in the field of travel. The travel industry has paradoxaal side that sets me in motion to do better. On one hand, it brings people together and travel improves local prosperity. On the other hand, travel often pollutes the environment and mass tourism does damage culture and nature. We sometimes forget that we are a guest to the places we visit. For me, meaningful travel is a trend of this zeitgeist. Clients call me a groundbreaking, sincere and hands-on personality. The motto Don't hate what you don’t understand, suits me. It is human to fear change: yet new vision is needed to deal with the new world.

I believe that conscious travel only has benefits. For the traveler a special experience and for the hosting country employment possibilities, wealth for humans and animals and preservation of nature and culture. The people who travel away from the masses and travel locally, are being submerged in culture, finding surprising places and are surrounded by nature. The group of people that attach more meaning to their vacation is growing and that offers more opportunities. With Purpose Lab, I want to show you that traveling, helping the world and making money can go hand in hand.

Down to earth

I am literally and figuratively with two feet on the ground. Down to earth in the sense of having a down-to-earth view of life is in my Eastern Dutch roots, where I still like to come. I am also down to earth because I feel connected to nature and the earth. The projects and issues that Purpose Lab is involved in, always revolve around the question: How can we travel and live in a way that is least harmful to the environment, is good for the local residents and contributes to the preservation of culture and nature? I believe that more conscious travel not only lead to a more sustainable, but also more enjoyable experience for both travelers and the host country.
